The City Clerk/Treasurer’s Office is located at 119 N Division Street, downtown Morrilton, next door to the Morrilton Police Department.  Hours of operation are Monday thru Friday from 8:00AM until 4:30 P.M.

The City Clerk’s Office forms the “hub” of local government because of our many and varied duties which puts this office in contact with the citizens and the local government.  We must maintain good public relations.  We are responsible for the financial administration of all city funds, accounts receivable and accounts payable and strive to provide clear and concise reporting of the city’s financial position.  The approval of the budget for the annual operation of the city, as mandated by Arkansas law, serves as an appropriation of funds for expenditures.    Other responsibilities include: Preparing the City Council Agenda and informing the council members of issues and concerns that will be considered at the meeting, including any ordinances, resolutions and any background or relevant information prior to meetings.   In addition to being a liaison to the city council the Clerk’s office is responsible for recording minutes and actions of City Council proceedings, and obtaining minutes of all City Committees and Commissions, a major element of lasting public record.   We are the HR /Personnel Administration office for the City with our largest customer base being our employees.  The Clerk’s Office is custodian of all official ordinances, resolutions and public documents.  All public records shall be open to inspection and copying by any citizen during regular business hours.  (A.C .A. § 25-19-105)

We pride ourselves in being able to work continuously with municipal officials, the city attorney and others to ensure compliance with the law.
