Public Hearing Set for Proposed Morrilton Sports Complex

City Council and Parks Commission to Present $3.5M Project to the Public

MORRILTON, Ark. — The City of Morrilton is inviting residents to a public hearing to discuss a proposed $3.5 million baseball and softball complex that would bring four new fields to the community.

The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, July 8 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, and is open to all members of the public.

The proposal will be presented by the Morrilton Parks and Recreation Commission alongside members of the Morrilton City Council.

Officials will outline the scope, funding, and potential impact of the project, and will be available to answer questions and hear feedback from local citizens.

“This project has the potential to enhance recreational opportunities for youth and adults alike, while also contributing to local economic development through sports tourism,” says Alderman Kyle Roch.

The proposed complex would include four state-of-the-art fields, expected to accommodate both baseball and softball leagues, as well as tournament play. Early plans suggest the facility could support local teams, youth programs, and host regional sporting events.

City officials emphasize the importance of community involvement in the planning process and encourage all interested residents to attend.

“This is a significant investment in the future of our city’s recreational infrastructure,” Roch added. “We want to hear from our citizens and answer any questions they may have.””
